The cover of this copy of the 1938 Illustrated Editions Company edition is pretty worn out. The cover title is hardly readable. The pages have yellowed over-time. The illustrations, however, have remained bold and undamaged.
Hamzeh Abd-Ullah Kar’s work is truly striking. The color choices and lack of ‘flourish’ make it standout. The simplicity of the work makes it distinct rather than mundane.
Update 08/2023: Updated layout, tweaked copy, and removed/replaced all the pictures since I wasn’t pleased with them.
